Like the giant comet in the satiric film Don’t Look Up, climate change has arrived, threatening life as we know it. And President Biden — leader of the country that emits more greenhouse gas than any other on Earth — is failing to deliver effectively on his climate promises.

Tools with the power to steer the U.S. economy away from fossil-fueled climate catastrophe toward a sustainable, just future can be unlocked by declaring the climate crisis as a national emergency. Biden hasn't taken this step, but a bill in Congress would require him to do so.
