Jacqui is pregnant with triplets and due in January. She just found out her babies must be delivered this week to avoid complications. She has nothing ready at home. Please read on so I can tell you why.

Hi

The news of triplets was very surprising for Jacqui and her family because they already have three children. Their eldest is 18 and currently sitting her final high school exams. Jacqui knows that she should be happy and grateful to have another child on the way but she’s really worried about the future. They would have struggled to buy all the essentials for one baby, let alone three.

It was in those first few weeks after being told they were having triplets that Jacqui realised how alone she was. She and her husband moved to Australia for opportunities that weren’t available in their home country, but they really struggle financially.

They have worked so hard for a better and safer life. They left all their family behind. Jacqui felt a tinge of regret. Her kids have no grandparents here, and she has no support from extended family. It's times like these that she needs and misses her family back home the most.

Please help us raise $31,000 [[link removed]] before 31 December so we can support all the families that need us through until the end of January.

Jacqui met with the social workers at hospital to ask if anyone could possibly help her. Three babies means three cots, three car restraints and a triple pram. Not only that, a large supply of clothing and bedding. Nappies and wipes. Breast pumps and bottles and lots of other little things. She would need help with all this to bring her babies home safely from hospital.

Many of us are fortunate enough to have friends and family close by. But for others like Jacqui, their support network is people like you. An amazing community of people donating to Geelong Mums [[link removed]] and showing that you stand beside these families in their time of need.

When you Share the Joy and make a donation, [[link removed]] we can work on providing all of the above for Jacqui. You can also leave a message of support [[link removed]] that we will pass on.

It’s an easy process and I know how much it will mean. It’s a great opportunity for you to show and tell a family in need just how much you care.

December is the busiest time of year for Geelong Mums. The orders keep coming and our waiting list gets longer. Together with our colleagues at St Kilda Mums and Eureka Mums, we have more than 5,000 babies and children to support in Victoria over the next three months.

Donations of cots, mattresses and linen go a long way to giving the gift of safe sleep. However, there is significant cost involved in delivering our services. We must raise $31,000 by 31 December [[link removed]] to ensure that every baby and child is provided with a safe place to sleep, dream and play.

We hope that Jacqui’s babies will be delivered safely this week, out of hospital soon and sleeping at home in cots that you will help to provide. And won't that be the best present you give this Christmas?

It gives me hope of a fairer and kinder future for us all to know that I have your support. I’d like to say a very sincere thank you for supporting Geelong Mums, and for Sharing the Joy at this time of year. I know that together we can reach every family in need before the end of January.

Best wishes,

PS. If you would prefer to make a quick donation on your phone, please text Geelong Mums to 0480 016 710.

PPS. When you donate, [[link removed]] you can also tick a box if the donation is in lieu of a Christmas gift. We will send you a printable Christmas Card designed by artist Madeleine Stamer. It’s black and white so you (or your kids) can colour it in. It's a great gift for someone special and there is also an option for a gift certificate for birthdays or other occasions.
