According to the Washington Post, Madison Cawthorn and Marjorie Taylor Greene are teaming up to lead a dangerous MAGA takeover of the GOP in order to keep fueling the Big Lie.

Cawthorn and Trump’s other right-wing acolytes are attempting a MAGA takeover of the entire GOP, endorsing candidates who promise to back the Big Lie that the election was stolen in NC and across the country. Their goal is clear – to win a Republican majority by filling House seats with extremists who care more about the national spotlight and loyalty to Trump, than the people they are running to represent.

The last thing we need are more politicians in the mold of Madison Cawthorn, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, or Lauren Boebert in the U.S. Congress.

Cawthorn has already endorsed seven right-wing Republican candidates running for House seats in 2022 (including here in North Carolina) – after securing assurances that they share his extreme, right wing views on immigration, social issues, and the Big Lie. If all candidates won, the size of the MAGA squad in the House would double.

We must continue to call him out, hold him accountable, and vote to replace his toxic brand of extremist politics with the leadership that Western NC deserves.
