Ayanna and our movement
just secured an important victory for reproductive justice in our country:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration heeded our calls and eliminated the
in-person requirement to obtain mifepristone, a prescription medication
that’s used to safely end early pregnancies in the United States.
Mifepristone has helped millions of people maintain control over their
reproductive health and future — but the FDA’s longstanding requirement to
pick up this essential medication in-person was burdensome, medically
unnecessary, and stigmatized safe, simple abortion care.
The FDA’s decision to lift this requirement will help ensure more people —
including low-income people, Black, brown, LBTQ+ folx, and others who face
unique barriers to accessing in-person care — are able to get the abortion
care they need.
Abortion care is health care, and Ayanna is fighting to ensure it’s
accessible to everyone who needs it, without unjust and unnecessary
barriers.

abortion care as a fundamental human right.
As we face continued attacks on our reproductive freedom and bodily
autonomy, this work has never been more urgent.
