Elsa is the low-key member of the flock. She is quite content to keep to herself and let others do the squawking. A factory farm survivor, Elsa bears the scars of her brutal upbringing: she arrived debeaked-a cruel (but routine) industry practice where farmers cut birds' sensitive beaks to prevent fighting in overcrowded conditions. In her past life, Elsa was clearly seen as an object, not an individual.
