Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows handed over a PowerPoint
presentation to the House committee investigating the January 6 attack on
the Capitol. The topic? How the Trump administration planned to overturn
the 2020 election results — including by declaring a national emergency.

So yeah. Republicans planned a coup by PowerPoint.

Here’s the reality in America in 2021: Maintaining Democratic control of
the Senate isn’t just about passing our policies, as vital as that is.
It’s also about protecting our democracy as we know it from the people who
want to tear it apart.

Now, here’s my promise to you: Send me to the U.S. Senate, and I will hold
*everybody* responsible for the January 6 insurrection accountable — and
I’ll make sure our elections are safe for good by casting the 51st
Democratic vote to scrap the filibuster + pass urgently-needed voting
rights protections.

We need Pennsylvania’s next Senator to be a proven fighter against the
insurrectionists.

I know this all too well, because I *was* that fighter in the Pennsylvania
legislature when Republicans refused to swear in a duly-elected Democratic
State Senator last January — they literally voted to remove me from the
chamber. And when Donald Trump aimed his bogus demands for a “full
election audit” at our Commonwealth, I called out his BS.

John, we
cannot allow the party who is still lying about 2020 — and stormed the
Capitol in January — to dictate the terms of our democracy.

But if we’re going to take on Trump allies and special interests and win
this election, we can’t let our people-powered fundraising slow down one
bit.
