**Magnus Confirmed as CBP Commissioner  **
**WASHINGTON, D.C.**-Â The Senate has confirmed Tucson Police Chief
Chris Magnus as commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
on a 50-47 vote.
Magnus has been a longtime member of the Law Enforcement Immigration
Task Force .
"Chief Magnus's leadership will be crucial as CBP addresses challenges
at our borders and within our nation's largest law enforcement
agency," said
**Ali Noorani, President and CEO of the National Immigration Forum**.
"Having served as police chief in Tucson, Arizona, Chief Magnus
understands what it means to live in a border community and keep it
safe. His prioritization of security and human dignity is the approach
CBP needs as it works toward orderly, secure and compassionate border
solutions."
