Dear John,
The holiday season is upon us. And
while we celebrate joy and togetherness at this special time of year,
we also know that millions of families who've been affected by
Alzheimer's disease will be thinking about their loved ones -
those who are still with us and those we have lost.
Between 2000 and 2019, deaths from
heart disease decreased by 7.3%, while deaths from Alzheimer's disease
increased by 145%. Alzheimer's is one of the most urgent dangers we
face, and our risk increases as we age.
Alzheimer's disease is everywhere.
We must do all we can to win this
fight for our future and for the people we care about. And right now,
you have the chance to make your year-end support go twice as far to
accelerate research and provide care and support during our special
$80,000 2X Match Challenge.

A generous donor, who wishes to remain
anonymous, has just pledged $80,000 and offered to match all gifts
made to the Alzheimer's Association if we can raise the same amount by
December 8. Their gift is dedicated to their local chapter and will
support local ALZ CARES initiatives, including expanding community
partnerships by recruiting and training volunteers to deliver
community education and resources - while your gift today will
help advance research and provide care and support to those impacted
nationwide.

I know you support our mission to lead
the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia - by
accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early
detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
And right now, your help is urgently
needed. That's why I'm hoping you'll show your commitment by making
your first gift while your impact can be doubled.

The more people know about
Alzheimer's, the better they understand how urgent our work together
is. As you share your good will this season, please make sure the
people you care about are aware that:
* 50% of people in the United States know someone living with
Alzheimer's.
* 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia.
* More than 6 million Americans are living with the disease today,
and by 2050 that number could rise to 13 million.
Of course, when even one person we
know is living with Alzheimer's, we experience the impact in our
family and community. And when we understand that even ONE person can
make a difference in this fight, it's very clear just how critical our
financial support is.
Please make a gift that can be matched
in impact, up to a total of $80,000, to provide more care and support
and advance Alzheimer's research.

Over the last two weeks, we've
experienced the joys of the Thanksgiving season as we celebrated
family, friends, food and gratitude.
We've all opened our hearts for
#GivingTuesday, when we show our charitable spirit and support the
causes that matter to us.
Let's keep the spirit of giving going
right into the holiday season and beyond, making the future safer and
healthier for us all. Please support the Alzheimer's Association today
with a gift that can go 2X as far.
