Today American Son , the new television event starring Kerry Washington, premieres <[link removed]> on Netflix. Based on the acclaimed Broadway play, American Son tells the story of Kendra Ellis-Connor, the mother of a missing teenage boy, as she struggles to put the pieces together in a South Florida police station.

To facilitate a broader conversation about implicit bias, relationships, race, racism, and the criminal legal system in this country, The Opportunity Agenda collaborated with Kerry Washington, her production company Simpson Street, and Netflix to create Raising American Son : A Discussion Guide <[link removed]>.
