John -- News reports are calling the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s decision not to take into account partisan fairness as it prepares to draw new maps for the state a “win for Republicans.”
Wisconsin Supreme Court sides with Republicans in redistricting fight
“The court's ruling makes it all but certain...GOP majorities will stay in place for the next decade.”
Republican majorities in the Legislature grew after the map it drew was adopted in 2011, even as Democrats won election to statewide office. The court's ruling makes it all but certain those GOP majorities will stay in place for the next decade.

Will you pitch in to help us fight for fair redistricting and pass the Freedom to Vote Act? This bill currently in Congress would crack down on gerrymandered congressional maps -- and will help empower voters in Wisconsin and elsewhere. We’re hoping we can count on you!

When the governor of Wisconsin tried to delay an election very early on in the pandemic to give folks more time to cast their ballot safely, the state Supreme Court overruled his decision.
Now, that same court is refusing to address the partisan imbalance of the gerrymandered maps proposed by the state’s GOP-controlled legislature.
We’re fighting to pass the Freedom to Vote Act because this is one way we can immediately outlaw gerrymandered congressional maps.
Can you help us fight back?
