John, we refuse
to tolerate this kind of behavior in Congress.

Last week at a fundraiser, conspiracy theorist GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert
described Rep. Ilhan Omar as "black-hearted" and "evil" and went on to
imply that she was a terrorist.

This wasn't the first time Boebert has attacked Ilhan either. Last month,
Boebert took her limited time on the House floor to spew racist vitriol
about Ilhan.

It's shameful, but we're not surprised. These are the kind of hateful and
vicious attacks that Muslims around the country face simply for being who
they are. They're also the kind of attacks Cori and other Black women in
office face every day. Black women like Ilhan and Cori have been leading
the charge toward justice and equality ever since they were elected to
Congress. Republicans are terrified of the movement we're building and
will do anything to silence us.



So today we want to send a loud message that we are not backing down in
our work to dismantle white supremacy, Islamophobia, and systemic racism

Ilhan was one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress, and Cori was
the first Black woman elected to Congress from Missouri. Ever since they
were elected, the far-right and Fox News have made them a target of racist
and dangerous attacks.

They know that leaders like Cori and Ilhan pose a threat to the status
quo. They know that together we're leading a powerful, grassroots movement
to push for justice, lift up working people, and dismantle white supremacy
in our government.

We're determined to show everyone that we will not be intimidated by these
attacks.
