** Gwynne encourages constituents to register to vote
------------------------------------------------------------


Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, has encouraged all of his constituents to register to vote ahead of the upcoming General Election.

This week, Parliament voted to hold an early general election on Thursday 12th December. To vote in that General Election, voters must be registered by midnight on Tuesday 26th November.

You can register to vote online via the Government’s website. It usually takes about 5 minutes.

To vote in the General Election you will need to be:
* 18 or older on Thursday 12th December.
* A British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen with a permanent UK address.

You can also apply to vote by post. To do this, you’ll need to register to vote before 5pm on Tuesday 26th November.

Andrew Gwynne said:

“Whoever you’ll be voting for in December, make sure you’re registered to vote so that you can have your say on how our country is run.


“It’s a winter election, so it’s likely to be cold and dark, and some may prefer to apply for a postal ballot.”

** Gwynne congratulates local Citizens Advice for getting top marks
------------------------------------------------------------

Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, has congratulated Citizens Advice Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford for receiving top marks in a recent leadership audit.

Each year, local Citizens Advice organisations are required to undertake a Leadership audit to understand how well they are performing. The leadership audit forms part of a wider Performance Quality Framework which ensures Citizens Advice service are providing the highest quality services and meet local residents needs.

The local Citizens Advice covering Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford received a top mark of 5, for every assessment area. The areas assessed were: Governance, Strategic business planning, Risk management, Financial management, People management, Operational performance management, Partnership working, Research and campaigning, Equality leadership.

Citizens Advice Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford covers the Reddish part of the Denton and Reddish constituency.

Andrew Gwynne said:

“I was delighted to hear that Citizens Advice Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford had received top marks in this leadership audit.


“They provide an invaluable service to so many of my constituents and I’m glad that the excellent leadership has been acknowledged in this way.”

Phil Aspden, Chair of Trustees, said:

“The whole team is delighted with the assessment results.


“As the leading information, advice and guidance organisation in Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford, we know these scores provide continued confidence to our funders and clients that the advice services we provide are of the highest quality and are underpinned by good governance and leadership.”

Another year, another great Tameside Labour annual conference last weekend. It's always nice for me, Jonathan Reynolds and Angela Rayner to engage with our amazing members at this event, helping to plan the local manifesto for the Council Labour Group and preparing for the upcoming General Election.

It was great to touch base with Charles from the Denton-based international charity Syria Relief. They're doing fantastic work to ensure people in war-torn Syria continue to have access to health and education services.

I was proud to show my support for our fantastic local postal workers this week in Parliament.

Yesterday, I joined the rest of the Shadow Cabinet at the launch of the Labour campaign for the December General Election in Battersea, London. It was a really exciting event!
