ARC operates on the premise that if everyone visited a prison or jail to hear stories directly from currently incarcerated people who want to return home to their families, we could change hearts and minds about our punitive carceral system. The hopelessness and injustices would become immediately apparent, and we would shift the needle toward a system that treats all people, including those in custody, with more dignity and respect.

Knowing how impactful storytelling can be, I am honored to share "Opening Doors," a ([link removed]) video ([link removed]) of fellow ARC member Aaron Franklin detailing his journey of family reunification. I encourage you to share it widely. It is deeply inspiring and provides a glimpse of what life can be when you have a support network of people who believe in you and your success.
