Friend,
I want to share with you how some of our supporters are making the
most of their donations this holiday season. As you know, tomorrow is
Giving Tuesday. However, today is Stock Monday - an innovative
new day of charitable giving focused on one of the most tax-wise ways
to give.

If you're fortunate enough to hold appreciated stock, you can
benefit from supporting the SPLC's mission to dismantle white
supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements and advance the
human rights of all people. Here's how it works:
* When you donate your appreciated assets, you can save on your
taxes by avoiding capital gains tax. If you itemize deductions,
you can also take a charitable deduction for the entire donation
amount.
* You may also receive carryover of the deduction for up to five
additional years if the fair market value of the gift is more
than 30% of your adjusted gross income.
* Now is the perfect time to donate: For your gift to be eligible
for your 2021 tax return, you must give by December 31, 2021.
MAXIMIZE MY IMPACT

You could see combined tax savings of up to 70% of your gift when
you donate appreciated stocks! And, Stock Monday gifts will be
matched dollar-for-dollar in honor of Giving Tuesday.
When people of goodwill join together, we can transform our nation
into the kind of country where promises made during the civil rights
movement are finally kept, and all people can thrive. That's why
your generosity this holiday season is so vital to our movement.
Please consider making a special stock gift before Dec. 31 to save on
your taxes and support our important work.
