I want to be Vice President to tackle the BME Deficit within the Party. This
is something I have been striving to achieve ever since I chaired the first
Race Equality Working Group in 2001. As Vice President I will take action to
empower and support BME members.

I am standing for vice-President because Change Can’t Wait and the party needs
a candidate with a track record that demonstrates they have made change happen.
The party must recognise that if we don’t attract ethnic minority support we
cannot win through.

Ethnic minority (EM) population is sizable in parts of the UK. A party that
supports communities, we should serve them better. This party hasn’t developed
and supported many EM’s members to maximise their potential. I have the
experience to work with others to help correct this.

Governance Consultation. How we organise our Party is fundamental to how
successful we are at delivering our liberal vision of Britain. Help us get it
right, take part in our Governance Consultation.
The 2019 General Election Review (the Thornhill Review) set out how we must
change in order to succeed at future elections. Since its publication, in many
areas we have made strides, but there is still much to do, particularly to
address the criticism the review made about the role and size of the Federal
Board.
The Board is therefore currently running a consultation on its own future.
Based on your feedback, the Board intends to bring at least one option for
reform to the 2022 Spring Federal Conference.
Please do take the time to have your voice heard, to find out more and
respond to our survey here. The deadline for submissions is December 8th.Learn

Disciplinary Consultation. We currently have various statements governing how
we expect our members to behave - towards each other, online, towards members
of the public and in public facing roles.
We are looking to bring these together into a cohesive set of documents that
talk not just about the things we shouldn’t do, but also about how we can
behave positively towards each other to create a better experience for every
member.
We’ve created a short survey with plenty of room for you have your say
<[link removed]>, and we’ll be holding a
consultation event with Mary Regnier-Wilson, the chair of FPDC, and Candy
Piercy who heads up the Disciplinary Sub Group of the Federal Board.Do join us
on December 2nd at 1800.
