The 2019 General Election Review (the Thornhill Review) set out how we must change in order to succeed at future elections. Since its publication, in many areas we have made strides, but there is still much to do, particularly to address the criticism the review made about the role and size of the Federal Board.
The Board is therefore currently running a consultation on its own future. Based on your feedback, the Board intends to bring at least one option for reform to the 2022 Spring Federal Conference.
Please do take the time to have your voice heard, to find out more and respond to our survey here. The deadline for submissions is December 8th. Learn more and take part here ➜ Disciplinary Consultation. We currently have various statements governing how we expect our members to behave - towards each other, online, towards members of the public and in public facing roles.
We are looking to bring these together into a cohesive set of documents that talk not just about the things we shouldn’t do, but also about how we can behave positively towards each other to create a better experience for every member.
We’ve created a short survey with plenty of room for you have your say, and we’ll be holding a consultation event with Mary Regnier-Wilson, the chair of FPDC, and Candy Piercy who heads up the Disciplinary Sub Group of the Federal Board. Do join us on December 2nd at 1800. | | Thanks for reading - and see you next month! | | | Best wishes, Dan Schmeising (he/him) Email Marketing Manager Liberal Democrats | | | | | |
