Pasadena, California – The City Council unanimously voted in favor of prohibiting the sale and distribution of mentholated cigarettes and other flavored tobacco products. The ban is slated to go into effect in 30 days.

Walnut Creek, California – The Walnut Creek City Council unanimously passed a ban on the sale of flavored tobacco products, including menthol cigarettes and flavored tobacco alternatives such as e-cigarettes and vaping pens.

St. Paul, Minnesota – The City Council unanimously approved an ordinance that sets new restrictions on tobacco sales in the city. The new ordinance, which is expected to take effect on December 3rd, is one of the strictest tobacco ordinances in the country and includes a $10 minimum price for cigarette packs and standard cans of smokeless tobacco.

Washington County, Oregon – The Washington County Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 to ban the sale of flavored tobacco and synthetic nicotine products, becoming the first county in Oregon to enact such a ban. Ordinance 878 includes menthol in the definition of flavored product.
