Washington County, Oregon – A revised ordinance that would ban the sale of flavored tobacco, synthetic nicotine, and vaping products with no retail exemptions passed this week. Ordinance 878 also bans the use of coupons to purchase tobacco and vaping products.

Bangor, Maine – Bangor City Council passed an ordinance banning the sale, display, marketing, and advertising of flavored tobacco products (including flavored e-cigarettes, menthol cigarettes, and flavored cigars) by a 7-1 vote. The ban, which takes effect June 1, 2022, applies to all retailers in Bangor but does not restrict the use of flavored tobacco.
