Madi is a 21-year-old college student who lives in Texas. By the time she found out she was pregnant, it was already too late to get an abortion locally. The new Texas abortion ban, S.B. 8, went into effect in September, denying people abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.

She was forced to travel hundreds of miles out-of-state to find the health care she needed.

Madi's story is not unique. Her health and her rights -- like the health and rights of so many Texans -- are at stake. The frustration, anxiety, and expense she was forced to endure -- that matters, too.
