Dear John,
Some great news to brighten your inbox this week!
Thanks to all of you for taking part in our supermarket campaign we are very happy to confirm that Waitrose has now committed ([link removed]) to stop selling high-risk synthetic pesticide products in their gardening range. They are the second major supermarket to do so after Co-op.
We will continue to push Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco to do the same.

Can you help us to do more?
We would like to take this opportunity to highlight a recent article ([link removed]) written by Josie Cohen, PAN UK’s Head of Policy Campaigns, for the Environmental Funders Network.
Shockingly, just 0.2% of the UK’s environmental philanthropy goes towards chemical pollution and we are yet to discover a mainstream health funder that considers chemicals to be a core part of their remit.

Josie details the reasons behind this lack of funding, despite pesticide-related harms in both the environment and health sectors being well documented. It’s a really interesting and surprising read and we hope that it encourages you to donate ([link removed]) (or even start a direct debit) in support of our work.
