I’m running for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin and want to tell you why.Just before I turned two-years-old, my dad passed away suddenly due to complications from an untreated childhood illness — it had been untreated because he couldn’t afford the care needed.

I’m more afraid of financial ruin than breast cancer.

Throughout my twenty years as a physician, I heard sentiments like the above more times than I can count. Other times, I saw the words in a patient’s worried eyes when I talked them through their treatment options.

I know firsthand that providing medical care isn’t enough. We have a health insurance system that perpetuates injustice and prioritizes profits over people.

That’s why I’m running for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.

Establishing universal health care and seeing the impact of our broken system on everyday Americans is a major issue that called me to seek public office. But I’d also like to hear from you: What issues motivate you to be involved in politics? You can share with me by clicking here. [[link removed]]

SHARE WITH GILLIAN [[link removed]]Republican Senator Ron Johnson has held this seat for nearly twelve years and hasn’t done anything to improve health care — in fact, he worked hand-in-hand with former President Trump to try to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, which would’ve tossed millions of people off their health plans.

We deserve better.

In the wealthiest country on earth, no one should have to choose between bankruptcy and their health. My dad had to make that choice, and I’m running for the U.S. Senate so no other family ever has to face that impossible situation ever again.

If you have time, will you share with me the issues that motivate you to stay involved in politics and be a part of the movement to flip Wisconsin’s red Senate seat blue in 2022? We are building a grassroots movement for a tough Senate fight, so it’s really important to me to get to know my team and understand what issues are motivating you. If possible, I would really appreciate you taking two minutes and sharing your thoughts with me. [[link removed]]
