Hi John! As usual we have a busy month of canvasses, actions, and educational events! Here are a few highlighted events for November.

Remember, all events at Corpus Christi take place in Building C, the large building behind the church. Enter from the parking lot between N. Galvez and N. Johnson Streets. The building is wheelchair accessible.

National DSA Politics & Collective Power Network Town Hall
October 29th, 6:30-8 p.m.
2022 St. Bernard Avenue, Building C
Before the inaugural Collective Power Network (CPN) ([link removed]) convening in New Orleans November 8-10, members of the caucus will host a town hall to discuss the nature and purpose of internal caucuses, how New Orleans DSA’s democratically determined membership priorities relate to the CPN platform, and engage members of the chapter in debate and discussion of these ideas.
Organizer School #2
November 4th, 6:30-8 p.m.

Organizer School is a monthly education program where we train our members on different parts of organizing. This month’s session we will learn how to develop new leaders and have organizing conversations that move people into action. Everyone is welcome, dinner will be provided.

New Orleans for Bernie! Kickoff Dinner
November 5th, 6:30-8 p.m.
2022 St. Bernard Avenue, Building C
DSA is launching a campaign for Bernie Sanders, the best candidate for working people and our families. Come join us for our kickoff dinner where we'll learn more about Bernie's program, have some small group discussions and make a plan to win.

Ecosocialist Working Group Launch
November 6th, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

The fight against climate change and the fight against capitalism are one and the same, and Louisiana is on the front line of both. Join the New Orleans DSA Ecosocialist Working Group and help us shape an agenda for the coming year. We'll discuss DSA's national work, Bernie's Green New Deal proposal, the Gulf South for a Green New Deal policy platform, and how we can organize to build local power for a future that is both environmentally and economically just.

Marguerite Green Campaign Debrief & Special Budget Meeting
November 12th, 6:30-8:15 p.m.
2022 St. Bernard Avenue, Building C
This is a Special Meeting where we will be debriefing our Green for Ag & Forestry campaign and approve a Chapter Budget that we developed through participatory budgeting over the past two months. All are welcome, dinner provided.

Healthopia!
November 16th, 4-5:30 p.m.
Xavier University Convocation Center, 7910 Stroelitz Street (3rd Floor Ballroom)
What will life be like with Medicare for All? Join the New Orleans DSA's Health Care for All Committee for our event Healthtopia, an interactive experience highlighting the failures of our current health care system and how Medicare for All is the only solution to free America of the shackles of health injustice. Help bring to life a socialist utopia (that is totally possible) where hundreds of millions of Americans and undocumented peoples are covered by a comprehensive public care system and are guaranteed the care needed to live free, full, and healthy lives. Let’s show our communities that a better world is possible!
