Dear Allies,

We have several new resources to share with you this week. See below for information on how you can join a sign-on letter in opposition to Trump’s Health Insurance Proclamation. We also have updated public charge community education materials. On Friday, we will be hosting a webinar on public charge for immigration attorneys -- we encourage you to share the invitation with lawyers in your network!

As you may remember, on October 4, 2019, President Trump issued his latest move to keep those who aren’t white and wealthy out: a proclamation ([link removed]) that would restrict immigration to the United States by people who are uninsured beginning November 3, 2019.The Protecting Immigrant Families campaign has written a letter ([link removed]) in opposition and we would love to have you speak up with us. The deadline to sign on is Wednesday, October 30, 5:00 PM ET.

for Immigration Attorneys

The Protecting Immigrant Families (PIF) Campaign, in conjunction with MLRI, ILRC and AILA, will provide an in-depth training for immigration attorneys on public charge and an update on current litigation efforts. The training will provide detailed materials regarding benefits, calculation worksheets and other case strategy tools to help attorneys advise clients about the use of public benefits and adjusting status.
