Hi John, I hope you’re having a good week?
It’s nearly here. In 10 days world leaders will gather in Glasgow for the global climate summit - COP26.
One way or the other - it will be a defining moment in the fight against the climate crisis. But with less than two weeks to go the UK government is sending the wrong signals. They’ve just released their Net Zero Strategy and it’s nowhere near close to what’s needed. [1]
As host of COP26 the UK has a unique opportunity to set an example to other countries and push for ambitious action in Glasgow.
The spotlight on world leaders has never been brighter. If enough of us join together we can show them what real climate leadership should look like before the vital climate summit.
Will you call on Boris Johnson to take bold action in Glasgow?

We’ve had decades of climate talks by world leaders but the crisis has only become worse. Carbon emissions continue to rise, the world’s forests and oceans continue to be destroyed and extreme weather events become more and more intense.
Amongst the doom and gloom there is still hope. We know that we can stop the worst effects of the climate crisis, but we have to act right now.
In Glasgow world leaders need to stop failing us. They must agree to end new fossil fuel projects immediately, back strong targets to cut global emissions in half by 2030, reject carbon offsets as a solution and finally fulfil and go beyond rich nations' climate funding pledges to the Global South - who are already feeling the worst effects of this crisis having contributed least to it.
We’ll be there in Glasgow holding the UK government and other world leaders to account. The more voices we have calling for real action the more likely we'll get this government to show real climate leadership at COP26.
Will you have your say?

It’s no exaggeration to say that the decisions made in Glasgow will significantly determine our lives and the lives of our children.
That's why the UK government, as host, needs to lead by example and close the gap between what it's saying and what it's doing to tackle the crisis - and quickly.
There’s only 10 days left to go until COP26. Please urge Boris Johnson to get serious about the climate crisis.

Thanks for everything you do.
Best wishes,
