We’ve had decades of climate talks by world leaders but the crisis has only become worse. Carbon emissions continue to rise, the world’s forests and oceans continue to be destroyed and extreme weather events become more and more intense.
Amongst the doom and gloom there is still hope. We know that we can stop the worst effects of the climate crisis, but we have to act right now.
In Glasgow world leaders need to stop failing us. They must agree to end new fossil fuel projects immediately, back strong targets to cut global emissions in half by 2030, reject carbon offsets as a solution and finally fulfil and go beyond rich nations' climate funding pledges to the Global South - who are already feeling the worst effects of this crisis having contributed least to it.
We’ll be there in Glasgow holding the UK government and other world leaders to account. The more voices we have calling for real action the more likely we'll get this government to show real climate leadership at COP26.
Will you have your say?
