Together, we stopped a climate catastrophe in the Western Arctic.

Yesterday, the deadline passed for the Biden administration to appeal a court’s decision ordering further environmental review for ConocoPhillips’ destructive Western Arctic drilling project.

More than 20,000 Earthjustice supporters rallied to tell the Biden administration that its defense of the drilling project in court was deeply misguided — and it’s clear the administration heard our roar. This is the power of persistent engagement. When we act together, we make sure that our government represents the best interest of the public rather than that of a few corporations.

Today’s victory is cause for celebration—but it’s far from the end of the road. The Department of the Interior will now conduct a more thorough environmental review, which means there will be additional public comment periods. When those public comment periods start, we will need your help to stop this project in its tracks for good.
