Monday Nature Mystery

We are pleased to announce the winner of our Monday Nature Mystery, Linda McBride! Please email us your snail mail address and preference for a hat or tote bag to: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]?subject=Monday%20Nature%20Mystery%20Winner!)

Congratulations to Linda for correctly identifying Kirtland’s Warbler (Setophaga kirtlandii). According to our good friends atAll About Birds ([link removed]) , this striking warbler breeds "in young Jack Pine scrublands that occur in Wisconsin and adjacent parts of Wisconsin and Ontario." At one time it was on the Endangered Species List ([link removed]) . Successful partnerships helped them recover to over 2,300 breeding pairs. It was delisted in 2019.
