Dear John,
While Pride month has become a widely-celebrated occasion around the world, the lived experience of the LGBTQ+ community is an everyday affair and in many places of the world, including Iran, people continue to face intolerance, violence, and discrimination.
But for the LGBTQ+ community, Pride—and the continued struggle for acceptance and equal rights—continues outside the month of June. And though we have made great strides in the U.S. towards these goals, the topic is still too often overlooked in the Iranian-American community.
That's why I'm pleased to invite you to our panel on Friday, October 22nd at 11am PT/2pm ET entitled "Navigating Queer Identity in the Iranian-American Community." [[link removed]] RSVPs are required. [[link removed]]
