John -- In one of his recent segments on "Last Week Tonight," John Oliver critiqued the conservative majority on the Supreme Court for two rulings that helped undermine the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

Oliver says the Shelby County decision coupled with the Brnovich ruling were essentially a one-two punch to voting rights -- helping bolster widespread state-level efforts by the GOP to pass voter restriction laws. So far, at least 19 states have enacted 33 laws that make it harder to vote this year.

"These two decisions basically make it easier for some states to pass discriminatory laws while at the same time making it much harder for anyone to challenge them." -- John Oliver

In states like Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina, we’re facing uphill battles in the fight for fair maps -- and fair maps go hand-in-hand with fair elections.

While demanding accountability during redistricting, we haven’t taken our eyes off the fight to protect the right to vote.

Add your name to our petition if you agree with John Oliver and All On The Line that the Supreme Court has opened the door for states to make it harder to vote in this country.
