John -- In one of his recent segments on "Last Week Tonight," John Oliver critiqued the conservative majority on the Supreme Court for two rulings that helped undermine the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
Oliver essentially says the Shelby County decision coupled with the Brnovich ruling were a one-two punch to voting rights -- helping bolster widespread state-level efforts by the GOP to pass voter restriction laws. So far, at least 19 states have enacted 33 laws that make it harder to vote this year.
The conservative majority on the Supreme Court may be no friend to democracy, but our team at All On The Line is -- and we’re working to ensure everyone in this country can cast their vote and have it weighed equally.
