The re-election of President George W. Bush in 2004 led to much soul-searching and finger-pointing among Democrats. Many left-wing activists and donors blamed the Democratic establishment and began looking for new ways to organize and fundraise. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has endorsed a mailer that distributes partly pre-filled applications for absentee ballots. The Center for Voter Information will be sending the mailers to Virginia voters ahead of the state gubernatorial election to bolster Democratic turnout. The dominant Black Lives Matter (BLM) group, Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, issued an official statement this summer throwing their support behind the brutal Communist regime in Cuba as state police beat, terrorized, and rounded up Cuban protestors who had taken to the streets demanding freedom. It also blamed the United States for Cuba’s problems: "The People of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination."

BLM Global Network Foundation appears to care more about leftist ideology than black lives.
