Dear Subscriber,
We hope you'll join us in celebrating 45 years of independent, local, investigative reporting that has informed and empowered generations of community leaders, public officials, advocates, activists, readers and journalists.
In recognition and celebration of our 45th anniversary year, City Limits is instituting a Hall of Fame. Our inaugural inductees are four extraordinary women who exemplify the diversity, ingenuity and grit of New Yorkers. These inductees not only have unparalelled careers, their contributions to New York City are extraordinary as well.
Our inaugural Hall of Fame inductees are:
Afua Atta-Mensah - Former Executive Director, Community Voices Heard;
Jenna Flanagan - Host of MetroFocus, The WNET Group;
Christine Quinn - President & CEO, Win, and;
Kathryn Wylde - President & CEO, Partnership for New York City.
Previous City Limits' honorees: Wayne Barrett, Preet Bharara, Adam Blumenthal, Richard Buery, Angela Fernandez, Laura Flanders, Henry Garrido, Elizabeth Cooke-Levy, Gabe Pressman, Tom Robbins, and Sean Straub, will also be inducted into the City Limits' Hall of Fame.
City Limits is also launching two fellowships to honor remarkable men who have helped make City Limits an independently sustainable, award-winning, and investigative, news outlet:
The Jarrett Murphy Fellowship - honors our Former Executive Editor who led the editorial team for 14 years - in Climate and Health Reporting.
The Mark Edmiston Fellowship - honors our previous Board of Trustees Chair for 11 extraordinary years of service - in Media & Business Innovation.
These fellowships will support City Limits' ongoing investigative journalism and support business development.
To mark the 45th anniversary, City Limits' editorial impact covering New York City issues over the last four-and-a-half decades is exemplified and highlighted in the commemorative book, 45 stories, 45 years: City Limits' history covering New York City. ([link removed])

Additionally, in 2011, former mayor, Michael Bloomberg, proclaimed a "City Limits Day" recognizing our work as a "model for New York and for the rest of the nation."
