From Juneau to You! Dear Friends, With several special sessions now behind us, we have yet another in front of us. Initially, the Governor called the Legislature back in session on October 1st but after much deliberation, he issued a new proclamation stating October 4th as the start of the 4th special session. Next week, I'll join other legislators to address: An act making appropriations for a supplemental 2021 PFD for eligible Alaskans An Act related to the Permanent Fund Dividend program SJR 6, HJR 7 or similar resolutions proposing amendments to the Constitution of the State of Alaska relating to the Alaska Permanent Fund SJR 5, HJR 6 or similar resolutions or acts proposing amendments to the Constitution of the State of Alaska relating to an appropriation limit An Act relating to measures to increase state revenues Yesterday, the Department of Revenue announced this year's PFD in the amount of $1,114. Alaskans who are determined eligible by October 7, 2021, filed electronically and chose direct deposit, will see funds deposited into their bank accounts the week of October 11th. All other applications and disbursement methods that have been determined by October 21st, including applicants receiving a paper check, will be distributed starting the week of October 25th. The Growing Crisis As we continue to see the number of COVID-cases increase, we must be mindful to do our part to help stop the spread.
