The latest data out of Iowa: Upcoming FEC filing deadline is critical to protecting Senate majority

Friend – Radical Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley (IA) just launched his reelection campaign, and his challenger, Democrat Abby Finkenauer, is facing her first public FEC reporting deadline at 11:59 p.m. tomorrow. This is the most important moment of our campaign, but we're still behind our FEC goal with only hours left. Here are the latest numbers from our data team:

* 64% of Iowa voters DON'T want to reelect Sen. Grassley, and Abby is running to defeat him in what The Des Moines Register called a "marquee matchup" – making this our best chance in decades to flip this seat blue.
* The Senate is split 50-50, meaning Democrats MUST defeat vulnerable incumbents like Sen. Grassley to maintain and expand our majority.
* The GOP Senate campaign arm already has a $25 MILLION war chest dedicated to defeating Democratic challengers like Abby and taking back the Senate – and an ally of Mitch McConnell has vowed to make Joe Biden a "half-term president" by dismantling Democratic majorities in Congress. 
* The first FEC deadline of our campaign is just hours away, but right now, Abby is forecasted to fall short of the $100,000 she needs to raise to defeat Sen. Grassley in Iowa.
