The latest data out of Iowa: Upcoming FEC filing deadline is critical to protecting Senate majority

Chuck Grassley (IA) just launched his reelection campaign, and his challenger, Democrat Abby Finkenauer, is facing her first public FEC reporting deadline at 11:59 p.m. tomorrow. This is the most important moment of our campaign, but we're still behind our FEC goal with only hours left. Here are the latest numbers from our data team:

- 64% of Iowa voters DON'T want to reelect Sen. Grassley, and Abby is running to defeat him in what The Des Moines Register called a "marquee matchup" – making this our best chance in decades to flip this seat blue.
- The Senate is split 50-50, meaning Democrats MUST defeat vulnerable incumbents like Sen. Grassley to maintain and expand our majority.
- The GOP Senate campaign arm already has a $25 MILLION war chest dedicated to defeating Democratic challengers like Abby and taking back the Senate – and an ally of Mitch McConnell has vowed to make Joe Biden a "half-term president" by dismantling Democratic majorities in Congress.
- The first FEC deadline of our campaign is just hours away, but right now, Abby is forecasted to fall short of the $100,000 she needs to raise to defeat Sen. Grassley in Iowa.
