Let’s Build a Tidal Wave of Opposition to Extreme Abortion Bans
John,
Last week the House voted to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), which for the first time protects abortion rights and access under federal law.
Legal scholars say that once the WHPA becomes law, it would be impossible for the courts to trim back reproductive rights. That’s why extremist opponents of women’s bodily autonomy are spending huge sums to block a Senate vote for the WHPA.
Will you donate now and help us fight back in the Senate?

Roe v. Wade is hanging by a thread, with new threats like the Texas vigilante abortion law emerging daily. Just this week, Florida introduced its version of the Texas law, with other states lining up to follow.
NOW has always been on the frontlines of the fight to protect Roe, and we must step up today. We need to show the Senate they can’t put women’s lives in danger.
In the last decade, more than 500 restrictive laws have been pushed through state legislatures, and that number is rising exponentially. The WHPA can strike them all down and enshrine abortion rights into law.
We need your help to push this debate front and center in the Senate’s agenda. We can’t let them ignore women’s rights. Not for one day longer.
In Solidarity,
Christian F. Nunes

Tonight, We Build a Tidal Wave of Opposition to Extreme Abortion Bans
================================================
John,
Today the House of Representatives voted for the first-time in history to codify abortion rights into federal law by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA).
This means that extremist politicians and radicalized courts can’t take away our autonomy over our own bodies with actions like Texas’ vigilante abortion law and the Mississippi 15-week ban the Supreme Court will hear in December.
These laws make it impossible for some people to access abortion, force providers to give medically inaccurate or misleading information and require patients to undergo unnecessary and sometimes invasive procedures. And these bans disproportionately harm BIPOC communities that are already facing systemic barriers to health care.

If the Supreme Court rules to reverse Roe, only federal law can protect us. That’s why we have to act right now to tell the Senate to pass the WHPA. Join us by calling your Senators and, if you can, donate to help our efforts to fight for reproductive justice.
Let’s take pride in what the House accomplished today, mix it with our outrage at the Senate’s continued obstruction, and build a tidal wave of grassroots activism that is stronger than partisanship and politics.
Make your gift today.
