Dear NRDC Activist,

We have just two days left until the public comment deadline for the Biden
administration's clean car standards proposal. [ [link removed] ]This is urgent — can we
count on you to submit a comment?

We can't stop the climate crisis without reducing carbon emissions from
our largest source: transportation. Clean car standards are THE most
important government program for reducing pollution from the nation's cars
and light-duty trucks.

Please
see my original email below if you need more convincing on why this issue
is so important. [ [link removed] ]And make sure to submit your public comment before the
deadline on Monday, September 27 — it only takes a few seconds. When
you're done, please consider sharing this campaign with family and friends
to help us reach our goal of submitting 50,000 comments.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us in the fight against climate
change. Your support is crucial and we appreciate everything you do for
the planet.

Sincerely,

Luke Tonachel

NRDC Needs 50,000 People Calling on the Biden Administration to Take Tough
Climate Action by Strengthening Clean Car Standards

An alarming new scientific report revealed that the world MUST reach
net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 to avert climate catastrophe. We need
climate action now: Submit an official public comment calling on the EPA
and DOT to strengthen clean car and fuel economy standards before it’s too
late!

Dear NRDC Activist,

The U.N. just released a devastating new report underscoring the severity
of the climate crisis. Their findings stress that we MUST reach net-zero
carbon emissions by 2050, before it's too late to avoid the worst impacts
of climate change.

Thankfully, the Biden administration recently announced it was
re-establishing and strengthening vehicle emissions and fuel economy
standards that had been gutted by the Trump administration. This is so
important because transportation is the largest source of carbon pollution
in the U.S.

Transitioning away from gas-guzzling, climate-busting cars and trucks —
and getting more electric vehicles on the roads — is one of THE most
important things we can do to stop the climate crisis. And it's a key part
of President Biden's Build Back Better agenda.

NRDC applauds yet another historic action by the Biden administration to
restore leadership in the fight against climate action. But the
administration's default proposal falls short of the emissions reductions
we need to avert climate catastrophe. The new standard allows too many
giveaways, or "credits", to the automobile industry, which could cut short
our carbon pollution reductions by a large margin.

Biden's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is accepting public comments
on the proposed clean car standards until September 27th.

[ [link removed] ]We need
50,000 climate activists like you to submit an urgent public comment
urging Biden's EPA and DOT to take the next step in reducing emissions
from transportation by strengthening their proposed clean car and fuel
economy standards. Will you join us?

We're already seeing the devastating effects of climate change firsthand,
with disproportionate impacts on frontline communities — predominantly
low-income communities and communities of color.

Stronger clean car and fuel economy standards will give a major boost to
our effort to shift to clean electric vehicles and fight the climate
crisis. And crucial investments in EVs and EV charging stations — key
elements of Biden's Build Back Better agenda — will help bring down the
cost of EVs so they're more affordable for all.

[ [link removed] ]Take action now: Submit an official public comment to President Biden's
EPA and DOT imploring them to adopt stronger standards that will deliver
the same carbon reductions as the Obama-era rules. We must strengthen this
critical climate measure and double down on fighting the climate crisis.

With the release of the [ [link removed] ]U.N.'s climate report, Congress negotiating
once-in-a-generation climate legislation, and upcoming global summits on
climate change, we have a truly unprecedented chance to meet the demands
of the climate crisis head-on. But this opportunity won't last long, and
we MUST take advantage of it to preserve our planet for future
generations.

[ [link removed] ], can we
count on you to stand with us and take urgent action to stop climate
change today?

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Luke Tonachel
