Students and teachers in Philly — including my own son and mother — have been dealing with dangerous levels of asbestos and mold for decades. A former elementary school teacher is currently battling mesothelioma after 28 years of teaching in South Philadelphia schools.
The mold and asbestos in our public schools is a public health crisis, John. My new bill will ensure that all schools in our city will be required to be inspected for these toxins.
