Last week, I introduced legislation to require the city to inspect asbestos and mold in Philadelphia’s public schools — that same day, horrifying amounts of mold were found in Frankford High School.

It’s well past time to take action. What I need now is your support, John.

One week from today, I’m facing my most critical quarterly fundraising deadline of the year, and I have $17,022 more to raise to hit my goal. Can I count on you to chip in $10 or anything you can today so I can continue fighting on Council for the safety and well-being of Philadelphia students and teachers?

Students and teachers in Philly — including my own son and mother — have been dealing with dangerous levels of asbestos and mold for decades. A former elementary school teacher is currently battling mesothelioma after 28 years of teaching in South Philadelphia schools.

The mold and asbestos in our public schools is a public health crisis, John. My new bill will ensure that all schools in our city will be required to be inspected for these toxins.

My top priority on Council is advocating for the safety of all Philadelphians. Will you chip in ahead of my September 30th deadline to help me continue my work on Council to get my critical legislation to remove mold and asbestos from Philly public schools passed?

Thank you for supporting me at this pivotal moment for our city. I appreciate your support.
