I’m the proud son of immigrants.
My mom raised my sisters and me by herself.
I grew up facing economic insecurity.
I enlisted in the military because I love this country.
I never imagined that one day I would be a Congressman.
That’s why I don’t take this job for granted, not for a single day.
My story is the story of so many people across this country -- that’s why I’m fighting for the values that reflect the way I was brought up. I know where I came from and that’s why I’m fighting ---
To protect immigrants and refugees
To preserve unemployment insurance and Social Security
To ensure we do everything we can to get people vaccinated and beat back COVID-19
To restore voting rights so that we live up to our democratic ideals
