World Alzheimer's Day $200,000 Match
[link removed]
Dear John,
This coming Tuesday, September 21, is
a special day.
It's World Alzheimer's Day - a
day to honor those who are living with Alzheimer's disease or other
dementias. It's an ideal time to reflect on how far we've come in the
fight to end this disease. But, as always, we must acknowledge that
the fight is still far from over.

Alzheimer's is a global crisis. In
fact, worldwide, 50 million people are living with Alzheimer's or
another dementia. What's worse, that number is expected to triple by
2050 to 152 million.
You can make a big difference in
fighting this devastating disease right now - 2X the difference.
A generous donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, has pledged to match
all donations up to $200,000 during our exciting World Alzheimer's Day
$200,000 Match Challenge - but only if we can raise that same
amount by midnight on September 21.

That means whatever you give today can
go twice as far to provide care and support and accelerate vital
research. Our donor's gift will help advance promising Alzheimer's
research.

World Alzheimer's Day is our
opportunity to shine a global spotlight on this cruel disease and
invite others - valued members of our community, like you
- to join our cause.

Alzheimer's affects people of all
backgrounds, from people living with the disease to their caregivers.
It does not discriminate. Alzheimer's is deadly, killing more people
than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. It's our nation's
most under-recognized public health crisis.

World Alzheimer's Day is especially
important this year - as more and more people are affected by
this insidious illness. In addition to the 6 million Americans living
with the disease, it also affects more than 11 million caregivers.
These are often people just like you, who never expected to face such
daunting challenges. Struggling to cope with bewildering new
circumstances, many find their lives turned upside down.
This is why we're here. Along with our
support for cutting-edge research and our advocacy efforts, we provide
direct help for those affected by Alzheimer's through our free 24/7
Helpline (800.272.3900). Our staff of specialists and master's-level
clinicians handle nearly 250,000 calls each year.
