In this week's edition, we'll be discussing the first truth of psychotherapy, the Canadian political landscape and how to find a compatible partner.

** On In sterquilinis invenitur: the Foundation of Modern Psychotherapy
There are many different schools of psychotherapy, but they have all converged on a set of minimal truths. The first truth might be: get your story straight. Past, present, future—it doesn’t matter. You need to map your path. You need to know where you were, and where you are, and where you are going. You need to know where you were so that you don’t repeat the mistakes of the past. You need to know where you are, or you can’t draw a line from your starting point to your destination. You need to know where you are going, or you drown in uncertainty and unpredictability and chaos and starve for hope and inspiration. For better or worse, you’re on a journey, in an adventure, and your map better be accurate.

Why Some Men Can't Get Women | Jordan B. Peterson
Dr Jordan B. Peterson:

"Get your act together so that there isn't any more stupid pain around you than necessary. Well, so then the question might be, well, how would you go about getting your act together? The answer to that is something like, look around for something that bothers you, and see if you can fix it.

You can do this in a room it's quite fun to do it, just when you're sitting in a room, maybe in your bedroom you can sit there and meditate on and think okay if I wanted to spend 10 minutes making this room better, what would I have to do? It's not a command, it's a genuine question. Things will pop out in the room that like there's a stack of papers over there that's kind of bugging you, and maybe little order there would be a good thing."
