TIME SENSITIVE? ? ? ? ? DEVELOPING? this is huge news, friend ? the House Natural Resources Committee has met and is poised to approve a proposal to block oil drilling in most U.S. waters and Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Trump rushed to sell drilling rights in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and nine drilling leases had already been sold. This bill would abolish the requirement in law to sell additional leases and void the existing leases.

This move will set off a firestorm among oil industry allies in Congress. What happens next is that the proposal will be added to President Biden's Build Back Better package. The plan already includes major provisions on climate change and environmental justice.
