Hi team,

58 years ago, hundreds of thousands of Americans participated in the March on Washington to stand up for equality. And today, that work continues.

Can you take a moment to join us in this historic fight and add your name to our petition supporting the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act?

This bill comes at a time during which voting rights are being stripped left and right and access to the ballot box is not guaranteed. If passed, it would restore and strengthen parts of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, including provisions struck down by the Supreme Court over the years.

Team, we can’t overemphasize how monumental this bill is to protecting voters’ rights. Barriers to the ballot box disproportionately prevent Black communities, other communities of color, and low-income folks from being able to make their voices heard in every election, from the local level to the national level.

And by threatening the bedrock of our democracy, voter suppression inhibits the journey towards equity and liberation for all.

Yvette has been advocating tirelessly to protect voting rights in the halls of Congress, and she needs you to add your name to our petition -- can we count on you to sign on?
