Good afternoon friend,

On Friday 22nd October the House of Lords will debate a new Assisted Dying Bill
for the first time in six years. Now is the time for the campaign to go big and
make our mark - and you can make sure members of the House of Lords hear our
message ahead of the debate. We need to act fast, the debate is in just six weeks. Can you chip in today
[[link removed]] to help pass an assisted dying law that is safe, fair and compassionate?

Our campaign ahead of this debate - formally known as the Second Reading of the
Bill - is critical. We need to make sure that supportive Peers are present,
briefed, and ready to speak out. You will have a vital part to play in
motivating them - but first we need to make sure we have the resources in place
to take us all the way. If you can, please back us today
[[link removed]] to turbo-charge the campaign to change the law.

The Second Reading is a key moment to establish support for assisted dying in
Parliament. At the Second Reading, Peers will take turns to assert their
position on the issue, making arguments designed to persuade the rest of the
House to take their side ahead of any vote. At the end of the day it’s a numbers
game. One we intend to win. Soon, we’ll need you to take action by directly
contacting the House of Lords. But first we need the funding in place
[[link removed]] to defeat our opponents.

The time for an assisted dying law is now and we need to be ready for the fight.
Thank you for being here with us.

Onwards.
