Welcome to our weekly newsletter about mental health services and support available in Barnet and beyond. Also bringing you updates on Inclusion Barnet mental health news.

The battle against stigma - Australia, Canada, and the UK, Thursday 16th September, 9.30 - 10.30am

Understanding and responding to stigma about mental ill-health is a critical global challenge. Hear about current challenges and developments in the battle against stigma in Australia, Canada and the UK.

Emotional Eating, Monday 13th September, 2.00 - 3.00pm

If you have ever reached for a tub of ice cream after a break up then you know the feeling of emotional eating. For some of us this is only an occasional occurrence, but for others it can be a daily coping mechanism that leads to longer term health challenges. This E-clinic is designed to help you understand your relationship to food and feel more confident in processing emotions rather than turning to food.

Working with Nature and Art for Health, Thursday 16th September, 6.00pm

Can physical and mental health be improved by greening healthcare settings, spending time in nature and connecting with the outdoors? This event is held in parallel with The Healthcare Arts Collective and uclh arts and heritage group’s exhibition on Health and the Climate and Ecological Emergency.

Mental Wellbeing Group by Barnet Carers, Monday 13th September, 4.00 - 5.00pm

Monthly Mental Health group aimed to give you a safe space to talk about your week and support your wellbeing. The focus for this week will address the struggles and rewards of being a carer.

Building Friendship

Building Friendship is a free weekly drop in every Friday for those with mental health difficulties.

Meet at East Barnet Baptist Church hall, EN4 8PS. Come along for a cup of coffee and a friendly chat between 10am and 12noon.

Mind & Mood Support Group celebrated its sixth birthday on 6th January 2021.

During the Covid 19 crisis, we have been running our mental health support group via Zoom.

We are interested in setting up a group for new members via Zoom during this uncertain time. For further information, please contact

Both Peter Sartori and Sandra Turner have extensive experience of the mental health system.

We are an independent support group, run by ex service users, for service users, their carers and supporters.

We are a Peer-Led Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation (DDPO).

Nearly all of our directors and staff have lived experience of disability, including mental health issues and/or long-term health conditions.

We believe that learning to use our lived experience for social change is a skill. We have become experts in harnessing the lived experience of our staff, members, volunteers and the people who use our services to design and deliver higher quality, more person-centred services.
