Kansas Republicans have gone over the line and are threatening to withhold funds from hospitals that require vaccine requirements. In a meeting last Friday, Senate President Ty Masterson said he doesn't want the funds allocated for Kansas nurses and frontline health care workers to reach facilities with "counterproductive" vaccine requirements. This is appalling and an insult to our frontline workers who have sacrificed tremendously amid the COVID-19 pandemic. [[link removed]]

There is overwhelming scientific evidence that show vaccines work and are instrumental in reducing the transmission of COVID-19. These coordinated and misguided attacks on science and vaccine requirements from Kansas Republicans are dangerous for our state, reduce trust in our public health institutions and puts all Kansans at risk.
