Ça fait des décennies que l’accès aux services en santé mentale est un
enjeu au pays. Mais depuis le début de la pandémie, c’est insoutenable :
la détresse psychologique des 18-34 ans s’est détériorée, et nous
avons même atteint un seuil historique où 30% de la population se dit
malheureuse ! 

Les listes d’attentes s’allongent et trop de gens, incluant ceux qui
bénéficient d’une assurance privée, n’obtiennent pas l’aide dont ils ont
besoin. Il est temps d’avoir un système de santé qui nous couvre de la
tête aux pieds. 

Jagmeet ose là où c’est nécessaire : il travaillera avec le Québec pour
inclure les soins et les services de santé mentale dans notre couverture
d’assurance-maladie publique déjà existante.

Access to mental health services has been an issue in this country for too
many years. Since the start of the pandemic, it is unsustainable.
Psychological distress among 18-34-year-olds has deepened and we have
reached an all-time high where 30% of the population say they are unhappy
! 

Waiting lists are getting longer in both the public and private
sectors. Prices are rising and one in three people are not getting the
help they need. 

It's time we have a health system that covers us from head to toe. 

Jagmeet is daring where necessary: he will work with Quebec to include
mental health care and services in our existing public health insurance
coverage.
