My
colleague Alex Padilla is defending one of California’s U.S. Senate seats
after being appointed to fill Vice President Kamala Harris’ vacancy. I’m
about to tell you more about why it’s so important we help Alex defend
this seat — but first, [ [link removed] ]will you split a donation of $10 or more between
our campaigns to support our ongoing efforts to end the filibuster, pass
Medicare for All, and fight climate change by passing a Green New Deal?

Alex is the son of Mexican immigrants who worked long hours as a cook and
housekeeper to keep their family afloat. He went on to spend his life
serving the people — as a community organizer, as Los Angeles City Council
President, as a California State Senator, as California’s Secretary of
State, and now, as California’s first Latino U.S. Senator.

Alex’s commitment to our shared progressive values is undeniable — he’s a
vocal advocate for Medicare for All and a Green New Deal — but his
re-election is far from guaranteed. It’s going to take serious grassroots
support to help Alex defend his seat and Democrats’ Senate majority in the
year ahead.
