Detroit DSA is a 1200+ member funded organization. We receive no money from outside sources so we can say things like "Defund the Police" and "Abolish ICE" without losing funding, and we will always act democratically in the interests of our members and the working class! If you're able to, we ask that you make monthly contributions as they more directly benefit our chapter. Thank you for whatever amount you're able to contribute!

Friend --

As August draws to a close with a pair of Detroit for All <[link removed]> Canvasses, our September calendar is filling up with a ton of exciting events to meet and hang out with your comrades - a party <[link removed]> to celebrate Bernie's 80th birthday, our General Meeting <[link removed]> on the 11th, and Motor City Pride <[link removed]> on the 18th and 19th!

With so much on deck for the next month, we hope you can join us, and together we can fight to build working class power!

Solidarity forever,

Detroit DSA

🌹 UPCOMING EVENTS 🌹

Detroit for All Phonebank

Wednesdays at 6:30PM

We're restarting our weekly Detroit For All phone banks every Wednesday from 6:30-8PM to help recruit volunteers to our weekend canvasses. The calls should be super easy - you'll be contacting lists of DSA members and Bernie supporters to ask them to sign up to canvass with us. Based on the latest field plan, we need 8 canvassers at each event in order to hit our voter outreach goals and this is a great way to help us get there. No experience necessary, training will be provided at the start of each event.

September General Membership Meeting

Saturday, September 11th 11AM-1PM

Clark Park

Join us for our monthly General Meeting at Clark Park!

As it is the 20th anniversary of 9/11, our newly formed Anti-Imperialist Working Group will be facilitating a discussion about 9/11 from a socialist perspective. Stay after the meeting for working group breakouts and canvassing for Detroit For All.

*Due to the Delta variant, please wear a mask and observe social distancing protocol. We will have some benches and chairs, but please bring your own if you're able to. We will be testing out a hybrid model with this meeting. More updates soon!
